Raquelle had no idea how much of her soul she would have to sell to solve the mystery of her papa’s death. She coiled up in the corner, avoiding the sharp edges of the cracked vinyl seats that could snag her custom tailored dress. The cab smelled of stale cigarettes combined with someone’s last-night backseat romp. Her nerves were on edge and thoughts were scattered. Had she thought far enough ahead, she would have ordered a car and avoided the dirty, uncomfortable ride. But cabbies navigated New York City like NASCAR drivers. Trapped at the mercy of the driver, she was determined to be punctual for an appointment in lower Manhattan’s financial district.

Surviving in the steel jungle required strength and was challenging but not impossible. Only the tough stuff survived in this brutal, unforgiving city. Compromises and sacrifices were necessary to seek out the true identity behind the mask everyone wore. Raquelle’s body had served as a negotiating tool, of sorts, to get what she wanted out of life. Sometimes that meant allowing another faceless man to use her. Used was such a harsh word. Who was she kidding? She enjoyed most of them, just not all of them. From an early age, she understood how men viewed her and how to make it work to her advantage. But this time, she wouldn’t cave to her sexual appetite. She needed this commission to be strictly by the book, no sex on the side.

The cold spring rain coming down in sheets served as an appropriate backdrop to the memories of her dark childhood. A shiver ran under her skin, assaulted by the black-and-white film of memories of the first set of hands to handle her innocence, the end result lacking any compassion. She hugged her coat, wishing she had had the courage to change things, to say no, instead of giving into her cravings. Weak and stupid were her excuses then but never again. Her experiences had turned her into a fighter. Dread crept through her veins as she thought about where she was headed in this maze of clogged traffic.

Kenzie lives with her husband in New England and is a huge dog lover. She has been fortunate enough to travel all over the world to places like Africa, Greece, Switzerland, Holland, France, England and, of course, Scotland. Edinburgh is one of her favorite places.

It’s all led to an overactive imagination. Creativity seems to be part of her soul as she paints portraits and takes photographs. Cooking is not her forte but she can bake up a storm. They have all added to her storytelling especially when writing about strong women and alpha men. She looks forward to adding to her adventures with her readers.

  LITTLE LULLABY EXCERPT  “When are you two going to start having children?” Grandma asks me the same question every time she comes over to visit. Hell, my mom, who sees me every weekend, bugs me just as much. I surround myself with children most days of the week for my job. You know what it’s shown me? First and foremost, I truly enjoyed listening to this book. Winona Owen did an amazing job narrating Kissing Magic. She did a great job portraying the emotions of the characters. I definitely felt their highs and lows. It was also very easy to distinguish which character was which from the tone of voice she used. I can’t remember ever getting bored or distracted, aside from my kids wanting food. I will definitely listen to more books narrated by Winona.
I have been obsessed with audiobooks since about 2014 when I didn’t have enough time to sit down to read and preferred still being able to read on the go. Believe me neither of us want to count the number of books I’ve listened to. Lately I am in love with all things paranormal and fantasy-based romance.  Kissing Magic was exactly the next book I needed as I’ve run a bit dry on magical books to read.
Now about the book! I fell in love with Karina and Sian from the beginning. Throughout the story the struggle was real to decide who I loved the most. Without going into detail, just when you think you understand everything the plot thickens. Karina has a few different personalities depending on what is going on with her, like many females. It did drive me a little nuts when I just wanted her to use her brain a bit more. She has an innocence about her and that’s probably the part that got to me, but at times she did display strength and growth. 
Sian on the other hand keeps you guessing all the way to the end. Believe me definitely never a dull moment with him. He is a jerk at times and yet one of the most devoted guys as well. Unfortunately, at times that devotion gets him into trouble. He is definitely a character that will keep you on your toes. Much like with Karina, I wish he used that brain he has a bit more. I wanted to jump into the book and knock some sense into both of them.
Overall, the supporting characters were portrayed perfectly as well. There is a lot of back story that is discovered with Kayla as well. Not exactly my favorite part. I think she is the most stubborn person in this book. Thankfully Darian is the perfect match to balance her. The story will certainly keep you engaged and experience this crazy adventure with each character.
I would definitely recommend this audiobook to anyone that loves books involving magic and fantasy. The production of the book was great and Winona definitely did the narration justice. Day Leitao did a great job with the story. I’m not happy I have to wait for another book.  I totally hate cliff hangers and this one was a whopper of a cliff hanger. I am glad I had the chance to experience the adventure I experienced while listening this book.
