This series has not only stolen my heart, but it has become a part of my soul. Sophia, Liam and the reject crew have given us one heck of an adventure yet again. The Water Legacy has completely left me speechless.

Megan Linski and Alicia Rades have outdone themselves yet again. This story is so well written, and the production and narration was perfect. Jennifer Jill Araya and Graham Halstead have done an amazing job portraying these characters in the perfect light. I seriously couldn’t ask for a more perfect combination than these four to bring this book to life.

There is honestly so much that I want to say about this book, heck the whole series so far, but sadly I am not going to spill the deets. This is one of those series that you absolutely must read. I promise you will love it as much as I do. The characters have grown so much in this book. Honestly this book has so many secrets and adventure that it will truly pull at your heart. I am completely in love with this book. As if you haven’t already figured that point out by now.

Now enough about how amazing I find this book. Go read it! Seriously, it’s amazing! Believe me you won’t be disappointed. Now I’m going to go look into getting the next installment because I am hooked!

Wow, just wow! A lot of stories I fall in love with the whole story, but it takes about 3-5 days to get through them. With Embracing the Dragon, I am pretty sure I just zoomed right through. Two days was all it took for this captivating adventure to take me over.

This author, K.L. Bone, really knows how to take you on an otherworldly adventure. Seriously I was there with the dragons and felt every emotion. Even the dull hurt Amelia must have experienced. This story truly encompasses every emotion it possibly could, and you experience the whirlwind with the characters.

The writing overall was perfect. The storyline will grasp your attention from beginning to end and believe me that was some ending. Like I could definitely go for more right now, but I will save that for another day. I may have stopped reading another book to listen to this amazing story. I really must finish the other one. I couldn’t help myself though. It’s like this story was calling to me. I’m so glad it did. Next book in the series is already on my wish list to be purchased soon.

As far as the production is concerned it was flawless. Seriously this was as smooth of a production as one could get. Let me just say Kylie Stewart did an amazing job narrated this story as well. Without her voice and emotion behind it, I don’t know if I would have fallen as in love with the story as I did. Kylie and K.L. make an amazing team.

Overall this is by far one of my favorite books. I feel a bittersweet emotion knowing I will someday reach the end of this series. Yes, I am already feeling this emotion ahead of the game. I can’t wait to dive into the next installment, but to be honest I also want to wait to read it. I just don’t want this adventure to come to an end. Thank you, K.L. Bone for such an amazing book and experience! I loved every minute listening to Kylie deliver such an amazing performance of an even more amazing book!

Holy Crap! Let me start out by saying this book is good. I mean to the point I immediate went and purchased the second installment. The characters completely have dynamic. I can’t lie and say that both Sophia and Liam were perfect because they certainly had their quarks. Luckily getting annoyed with a character is not new to me.

When it comes to the writing of the story itself. I think Megan Linski and Alicia Rades did pretty dang good. I wish the characters had only been a little more decisive. I enjoy when we have a character that isn’t so wishy washy, and I feel both of our main characters had a ton of insecurities. There was some suspense mixed in that the authors did well with, however, I wish there was a bit more. It was a bit spread out here and there. Overall though the book was well written, and I never felt like I had to stop reading and just come back to it later, so that is certainly a plus.

Now the narrators, Jennifer Jill Araya & Graham Halstead, did an amazing job. I feel they not only gave the characters the dynamic needed for this book to capture the reader, but they also brought life to each individual scene. I could definitely tell which character was in the lead in every individual scene. I feel I even learned quite a bit about our supporting characters.

Overall, I am very pleased with the book. As I previously stated, I bought the second installment right away. I feel the production of the audiobook went off without a hitch so be rest assured I went for the audiobook the second time around as well. I haven’t had much of a chance to dive in completely to that book, but I definitely can not wait too. There is no doubt in my mind that any reader would enjoy this book as much as I did. It was such and fun read. I definitely think this book deserves 4 out of 5 stars.

Aven Ellis’ Top Ten Literary inspirations

Sophie Kinsella. The moment I started reading Confessions of a Shopaholic, I felt as though I had never read anything like it before. It was so funny, so vivid, so bright. I knew instantly that these where the kind of stories I wanted to write-ones with humor and heart. And that began my path toward becoming a romantic comedy writer.
Georgette Heyer. I absolutely love her regency romances, in particular Sylvester and The Grand Sophy, which had me laughing out loud. Absolutely brilliant writing.
Jane Austen. The way she weaves together a story is masterful. These are re-reads for me.
JK Rowling. The fact that she had such strength and perseverance to follow her writing dream is truly inspiring.
Maeve Binchy. She wrote the most beautiful descriptions and stories with so many layers.
Julia Child. Her book Mastering the Art of French Cooking is a masterpiece. When you read her book My Life In France, you see what a monumental undertaking it was to write that cookbook and in this book, you feel like you are on the journey. I absolutely love both of them.
Julia Quinn. Her Bridgerton series is a master class in laying out a series. How the plots are so thought out, so interwoven to lead to the next book, is brilliant.
Margaret Mitchell. Gone with the Wind, need I say more? I love the way her plotting kept me turning the page.
Helen Fielding. Bridget Jones’s Diary is humor at it’s best. She is another comedic inspiration for me.
Emma MCLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, The Nanny Diaries. I still remember parts of this book, which made me laugh and made me sad. Most of all, I remember feeling it was totally unique and I loved that about their writing style.

Q&A with Author Aven Ellis

Are you an audiobook listener?
- What about the audiobook format appeals to you? Yes, I’m always listening to a book-when I’m in my car, and right before bed. I love the audiobook format because it allows me to read at times when I can’t. As a writer, when I’m done writing for the day, my eyes need a break. Audiobooks fill that need nicely!
How did you select your narrator?
- The Modern Royals Series is produced by Tantor, and they gave me a couple of narrators to choose from. But I requested Andrea because I heard a clip of her British accent and I knew she was perfect to carry the series forward! Her accent is so good I had a British friend ask if she was British! There’s no greater compliment than that!
Were there any real life inspirations behind your writing?
- I have been fascinated with the British royal family since I was a tween. People always come to me to talk royals and finally another author said, “Why aren’t you writing a royal series? You would be perfect for that.” So I thought about it and decided I wanted to create an alternate reality British royal family. I use the real palaces and traditions in the books, and it’s been a tremendous research project to get those details right, but I absolutely love telling royal stories.
What gets you out of a writing slump? What about a reading slump?
- If I get to a sticking point with my writing, I bounce ideas off my critique partners and beta team until the story is back in the right direction. For a reading slump-I’m lucky, I’ve never had one.
How did you celebrate after finishing this novel?
- I always treat myself to a bottle of perfume after finishing a novel, and that’s what I did.
If you had the power to time travel, would you use it? If yes, when and where would you go?
- You know what? I wouldn’t. I’m grateful for the time I’m in and wouldn’t want to go back to any other time.
What do you say to those who view listening to audiobooks as “cheating” or as inferior to “real reading”?
- If you are consuming a story, if you are enjoying escaping to another world, to me that’s all that matters. Personally, if you are listening to a one of my audiobooks you are consuming my story and that’s all that matters.

First and foremost, I truly enjoyed listening to this book. Winona Owen did an amazing job narrating Kissing Magic. She did a great job portraying the emotions of the characters. I definitely felt their highs and lows. It was also very easy to distinguish which character was which from the tone of voice she used. I can’t remember ever getting bored or distracted, aside from my kids wanting food. I will definitely listen to more books narrated by Winona.

I have been obsessed with audiobooks since about 2014 when I didn’t have enough time to sit down to read and preferred still being able to read on the go. Believe me neither of us want to count the number of books I’ve listened to. Lately I am in love with all things paranormal and fantasy-based romance. Kissing Magic was exactly the next book I needed as I’ve run a bit dry on magical books to read.

Now about the book! I fell in love with Karina and Sian from the beginning. Throughout the story the struggle was real to decide who I loved the most. Without going into detail, just when you think you understand everything the plot thickens. Karina has a few different personalities depending on what is going on with her, like many females. It did drive me a little nuts when I just wanted her to use her brain a bit more. She has an innocence about her and that’s probably the part that got to me, but at times she did display strength and growth.

Sian on the other hand keeps you guessing all the way to the end. Believe me definitely never a dull moment with him. He is a jerk at times and yet one of the most devoted guys as well. Unfortunately, at times that devotion gets him into trouble. He is definitely a character that will keep you on your toes. Much like with Karina, I wish he used that brain he has a bit more. I wanted to jump into the book and knock some sense into both of them.

Overall, the supporting characters were portrayed perfectly as well. There is a lot of back story that is discovered with Kayla as well. Not exactly my favorite part. I think she is the most stubborn person in this book. Thankfully Darian is the perfect match to balance her. The story will certainly keep you engaged and experience this crazy adventure with each character.

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to anyone that loves books involving magic and fantasy. The production of the book was great and Winona definitely did the narration justice. Day Leitao did a great job with the story. I’m not happy I have to wait for another book. I totally hate cliff hangers and this one was a whopper of a cliff hanger. I am glad I had the chance to experience the adventure I experienced while listening this book.
